Levi the Lovey
We were up at 0530 hours to be at Addenbrookes by 0700 hours for my husband to have the tendon in his cut thumb repaired. The cut itself had healed during the six-day wait for an appointment and we thought we might be out by 0930 hours and planned to go into Cambridge. Not so and we left Addenbrookes at 1700 hours.
He should have been first on the list, but they had an emergency to fit in and he eventually went to one of the main theatres, all gowned up at 1435 hours. At least they provided tea and coffee regularly, for me as well and gave him a sandwich for lunch. He was able to eat and drink as he was only having a local anaesthetic. He asked to watch and was allowed to do so, neither of us expected such a large bandage or that the hand and wrist would be encased in Plaster of Paris!
While waiting for him to go to theatre I was knitting and today’s picture shows how much I did. The completed one needs sewing together, it is a small blanket with a teddy’s head incorporated at the top. It needs sewing, stuffing and a face embroidered on. The second one needs to be completed.
