amazing butterfly numbers...

I went for a walk around Ingbirchworth reservoir today and to my delight, despite it not being very sunny, I saw literally 100+ butterflies out and about. They were mainly small white but there were sprinklings of other species too... 30+ small tortoiseshell, 3 painted ladies, 10+ wall brown, 2 green v white, 3 small copper, 10+ speckled wood. 
Many of them were in a garden near the res. 
I was standing going 'Wow, wow!' a lot... when the lady of the house came out. She was equally thrilled and so didn't mind me standing there and watching.
