In 1912, Arizona became a state.  It was the last of the 48 contiguous and was followed in statehood by Alaska (3 Jan 1959) and Hawaii (21 August 1959); thus, the Union, known as the United States of America, was complete. {I believe Puerto Rico should be admitted to this Union sooner rather than later. It shouldn't be hard to figure out where to put their star on the flag.}  I saw this map while I was eating lunch in the Mountain View Cafe.

So goes my mono Monday attempt for this week's theme.  I hope it works.  I will try to get around today to see and read all of the entries.
