Villas Redclyffe and Torrisdale

These 2 villas are in a very poor state.  They are in Springburn and I think it fair to say in a not very desirable area. 

Most people would walk past them and certainly wouldn't bother to photograph them.  And you can see why!

However the thing about them is that they are 2 of the earliest designs built by Charles Rennie Mackintosh back in 1890 when he was only 22.

I noticed that the one on the right haas a few distinctly CRM glass panels in the window -  one round the back too.  Not sure if they are the originals or not. 

The good news is that there is renewed hope of them being rescued from their current dilapidated state.
