Magnificent Birch

It's next to the screened porch at our house in in Tamworth, where we usually sit in the late afternoon over drinks. I've previously blipped it here, exactly four years ago, looking from the porch. Here I'm outside the porch, looking past it towards Whiteface mountain (dimly visible on the left. blipped here).  This morning Kate and Tom left to head back to Maine, and Pat and Tif arrived this afternoon (though they live in Vermont , they came from a stay on Cape Cod, bringing some lovely scallops which we had for dinner).
