diving gannets

Today we drove up to the northern tip, the Butt of Lewis and then made our way down the west coast stopping and walking at regular intervals.
We saw so much of interest but the highlight was a picnic lunch on the beach watching the gannets diving. The first extra shows the point of hitting the sea, a shot I've not managed before.
A small selection of other photos include the sheep on a bridge I thought looked like they are divided into two teams with the one in the middle undecided. Next in extra is a 12 century church still having services between April and September by oil light.  I liked the patterns in a peat stream running onto the beach at Dalmore next. The Port of Ness is next. Finally, another Blackhouse, this one in Arnol, which was set up with what life looked like at the turn of last century. The peat burning in the centre and the smoke being absorbed into the thatch. The curtains are through to the bed.
