Proud to be British!
An evening of compulsory fun with my wider department, at the annual barbecue ( we’ve had multiple weeks of dry hot weather, and the heavens opened at 3pm, just prior to our kick off) many of us bought national delicacies, I contributed Pimms, Eton Mess and British sausages. It would seem the latter went down better than the Pimms! I also had to explain what “black tie’ meant to a Polish colleague who has been invited to a very upmarket UK wedding, plus was an honoray Russian to help sing a leaving song to two Russian colleagues. A very different evening.
