The problem with having to empty cupboards to allow the installation of the new boiler is in deciding what should be put back and what might be better consigned to the charity shop.

We have already sorted out the airing cupboard so today I spent all day going through clothes, setting aside the summer wardrobe to store, piling a lot to be tried on in case I they fit and filling two large bags with things that don't - obviously I've been hoarding quite a lot, ever hopeful of slimming down someday.

So a trip out to Broughton High for U3A Science came as relief, hearing a talk about Wind turbines and renewable energy systems in general, given by Dr Jamie Taylor, who coped well with the probing questions afterwards, such that we overran our time.
