Dementia...

... is such a horrible disease. This afternoon I looked after my f-i-l while the others were out but I managed to lose him as he went off to the village shop and told people there that his wife had left him and there were children in the house with no one looking after them. It was a bit embarrassing having him returned to me with that story! It's been a challenging day with so much aggression and confusion and I'm left even more in awe at my m-i-l for coping each day.
