Love bugs

I know I felt like a voyeur. Last photo of the walk. I was checking all the patches of milkweed alongside the road for monarch caterpillars (I found one -see extra) and in this last patch I found several lady bugs. These two - well actually the one on the bottom was scurrying along the leaf while this was going on. Poetry in motion? 
The extra is a very strange looking upside down in it's web spider on another milkweed plant. I have no idea what it is , but I think it could have been used as a model for Alien.
