The locals
Having a great time in Dublin. I think they said they were local.
I'm having a very interesting time on a course and staying in the heart of Dublin city with Erik and Shane via Airbnb. It's an international set up which allows hosts to put guests up in their homes in a B & B style arrangement. It's often cheaper, more homely and certainly more friendly than a big soulless hotel. I have been so generously looked after and made to feel completely at home. Last night it was wine and chatting with them and their friends by the fire, tonight they treated me to my first Venezuelan arepas (fried maize meal pockets with spicy beef and cheese filling). As I have to be gluten free these days, I was in heaven to be able to eat something that was bread/pannini/pitta ish again. I've got the recipe and am thinking a West Cork Venezuelan night would be a little different, apparently if authentic it should be washed down with rum! Ho Ho me hearties.
