Bingo!
Finally tracked down a brown hairstreak - my 45th butterfly species of the year and a new record for me (I'd not been past 40 before). I set out in May to see how many of the 44 species of butterfly resident in Sussex I could find in one year not imaging it would be all of them. As a bonus I managed to photograph all but one - the White Letter Hairstreak will have to wait until next year. Two of the species - Balck hairstreak and Wood White - were lifetime firsts for me. I'm pleased to say that 15 of the species were seen in my garden and all but five were within 15 miles of the house.
