Ego
Rode my bike into town today to see if I could find a blip, as I often do. Didn't find anything too interesting; settled on taking some shots of this busy intersection. I took my time trying out some different angles, none of which, in hindsight, produced anything spectacular.
The guy pictured was there waiting for something or someone, and so we noticed each other standing around. After a while, he could no longer contain himself, and opened his bag to reveal onto me that he too was packing a shiny DSLR. Unlike me however, he hadn't come to take pictures, but now his camera was out and open, so he had to take some shots to make it look casual. As he started shooting in all kinds of random directions - to my amusement - it suddenly dawned on me that I had a classic tourist-taking-up-the-world-around-him-movie-shot on my hands.
I literally spent the last four hours or so cropping and reframing the shot, and it's not even a great picture; my perfectionism is doing me head in.
Shoulda got closer. dammit.
