One of three early arrivals

I certainly wasn't expecting to see any lapwings when I was walking round the loch this morning but as I neared the rocks where they ALWAYS settle I noticed a rather dark shape on one of the rocks.  

The birds are very easily disturbed so I walked very slowly across the grass with my camera at the ready. 

There were three lapwings but they weren't close enough to get all three in the one photo ..... next time perhaps.
