Imperium

When we went to the theatre on Thursday evening it was to see a play about the Roman Empire, Imperium. It is in two parts, Conspirator, which we saw on Thursday and today we went to see the second part, Dictator. Very powerful stuff but we both agreed that they were probably trying to cover too much even within the total running time of nearly six hours. It might have been better to have concentrated on a smaller timescale but gone into more detail, but it was still very enjoyable. Because Euston Station is closed this weekend for engineering work we went in from Bedford to St Pancras where this installation commemorates the end of the First World War.
