There isn't a straight line in this building, a wonderful confection of the 16th century. And all held together with pegs and joints. 

It is Leonard Bernstein's birthday today, he would have been 100. I have been celebrating someone else's birthday :). It's gone well. On The Town, but in Cheshire rather than New York. 

We've also had some lessons on smells of the sixteenth scent-ury. I've never thought about how things would have smelt way back when, our records are written, visual and aural. More interesting and enlightening than I might have imagined.
