I haven’t been anywhere exciting today, and it was difficult to get a decent shot of anything in the garden. The weather wasn’t too good, but it improved later.

I discovered this morning that I was nearing my goal weight, so I decided to start the Couch to 5K training using the BBC app. It wasn’t quite as difficult as I thought it was going to be, but I suppose there are a couple of reasons for that. First, I do a fair amount of walking and I am not, therefore, a couch potato. Second, many years ago I used to do a lot of running and I know that if you keep going, many of the discomforts go away. I am not saying it was easy though. At first, I thought my knees were going to give way. Let’s see if I can keep it up.

Note to self: 1. Find somewhere pleasant to run. 2. Don't get any daft ideas about training for a marathon or even a half marathon. You're too old and it will kill you!
