Fifty-fifty chance of rain*
Turned out to be less than that when we headed into Edinburgh to meet up with Alistair and Olivia before they headed back home on Sunday. The sun was shining and the zombie hordes festival goers were out in force.
We had a table booked at 6pm in Divino Enoteca and were allowed an hour and a half to order, eat and leave before they shoehorned some more hungry festival goers into the place. No time for dessert or coffee before the bill was slapped onto the table. Mrs Rex's food was cold and they got Olivia's order wrong. The waitress wasn't too pleased when I didn't add a gratuity to the bill.
Afterwards a rare experience for me, a front seat at a musical revue of the Edinburgh Fringe. In fact, a front seat at anything is unheard of for me. I resisted the requests to clap along with the music as we were treated to "...an hour of satirical songs, crude observations and hilarious half truths". What I did take from it was that you need perfect teeth and boundless enthusiasm to appear in a musical revue. That and being able to carry a tune of course.
They ticked all those boxes
