paddle steamer waverley
yesterday's cruise from Glasgow to Rothesay the penultimate of her Clyde season unfortunately proved to be the last since boiler control trouble led to her having to limp back to Greenock last night from Helensburgh after abandoning the trip and spending several hours anchored between Roseneath and Gourock while engineers got her going albeit at half her normal speed.
The most cheerful of the hundreds stuck aboard seemed happy enough that the bars were well stocked and that it was a fine day. Hopefully the problems can be sorted in time for her cruising program in the Bristol Channel to start later this week
