This has been quite a weekend.

Yesterday had a visit from a friend I’ve known since I was 4 years old. Shortly after that a phone call from a Belgian friend whose friendship probably changed the course of my life. Long time no speak but we’re going to arrange that.

Today an early call from my niece playing with my sister’s phone, 6:45am, good job my phone sleeps in the kitchen.

Then news that my mother’s best friend passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. I’ve known her all my life and she was kind enough to attend our wedding on her birthday, so we all sang Happy Birthday for her.

Sad but relieved for her daughters
