A better Claas of neighbour’s today ....

The odd shower this morning, but nothing serious.
A lorry in next door to collect store lambs bound for Stirling mart. They made nearly as much as fat lambs the same weight last week and there are less off-takes and levies.
A quiet house at breakfast time as kids back to school today !
Had to bring a cow in to calve. Once I got a hand in the problem was obvious- two heads and a jumble of legs all trying to come out at the same time. After a bit of pushing , pulling and swearing I eventually got her calved. One dead, one alive but very small and weak. Tubed it with some milk and we will see what happens.
Went away down the road to cut a field of grass to hopefully bale tomorrow. At the back of the village , but don’t expect any problems with the bales here- as the title says , a better class of neighbour’s than on Friday !
Have just been sitting in the field watching the Edinburgh fireworks, with a big orange harvest moon behind me. Almost contented !
