Had someone from Oxford University Publishers come in this morning to talk to us about how to get a book published and how to aim it for the right audience. Was surprised at how much control publishers have over your book, and how little royalty you get from the sales - but still publishing a book would be a pretty cool thing to achieve!
We then had our first class journal club discussing the recent finding of the Asian elephant who is able to mimic human speech. Debate ensued on what the definition of mimicry should be. Either way the finding is pretty cool, whether the Elephant knows what is doing or not.
