Fynbos

On the road to George Dam (Garden Route Dam), fynbos (indigenous shrubs) have sprouted the past three years after a pine plantation had been harvested.

Initially it looked bare and ugly, but now it is taking on a new beautiful appearance.

To the right, but out of the picture is the Outeniqua Mountain range.

As the mountains disappear, they change name, but almost go all the way to Cape Town.

One kilometer down the road takes you straight into George, so it makes a lovely walk when you stay close to the dam.

The humidity was extremely high this morning, and it is becoming one of those days when the sweat will not evaporate and leaves you feeling uncomfortable.

As can be seen, the clouds have formed a blanket that keeps the warm, moist air trapped underneath.

Last night saw lovely thundery weather in the mountains, but alas, produced only a few drops of rain ...
