About the North: Imagined dialogues ...

... at the Side Gallery Newcastle today - "Structured around the themes of Place, Transport, Work and Leisure, About the North features the work of 35 photographers over two floors. With 125 photographs to view."

Among the images was Daniel Meadows' photograph of the Bingo Hall, Haltwhistle taken in 1974 (formerly the Gem Cinema).  Examine the picture to the left and there is a young girl, face raised, looking backwards.  By happy coincidence she visited the gallery at the same time as we did - she is stood next to her younger self, 44 years later.
