The Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina......
The Blue Ridge Mountains are named because there is always a blue hue surrounding the mountains. Some days are more brilliant or less, but always some blue. The parkway runs all the way from one end of the mountains to the other, approximately 465-8 miles.
Today we went back to the Pisgah Forest, got on the parkway and and traveled to the Rock Graveyard water falls. It was spectacular to see the rocks that water had rush over the falls and landed at the bottom. (extra 1)
Then we drove to the Smokey National Park and stopped at the Visitoe Center of Oconulfftee. There was aMountain Farm Museum set up in a beautiful field. All of the buildings had been moved there from a farm in the Smokey Mountains. It was very difficult to photograph because the suns straight over head and very harsh. A part of all the pics are a bit washed out, but it was a lovely serene and productive place exhibiting all of the parts necessary to survive summer and winter.
