Raptor Revisited
There was a cloud of tiny feathers fluttering down from way on top of the Norfolk Pine this morning. Sure enough, someone was having breakfast. This image isn't quite as gory as some of them, but it's not for the faint of heart. At first I thought it was an osprey because of those thick legs, but I think they have black bills and feet, so I'm going with Cooper's Hawk. *
Put up a dozen small jars of applesauce in the afternoon, but didn't make a dent in the pile of apples that are starting to drop. There's always juice. Maybe tomorrow.
* It’s been suggested that this is a Peregrine Falcon, see below. The link from RavensRoost shows a bird that looks remarkably like this one.
