Enemy at 12 o'clock high!!

I took this through the kitchen window as this young juvenile( see his two new red gorget feathers) rested on a twig attached to the feeder. He scanned the sky with open beak, fed, scanned the sky some more and darted off in pursuit as another hummingbird approached.


For the Record,
This day came in hot with multiple warnings about excessive heat. It's impossibly hot for New England.


All hands really quite tired of this hot, hot summer.
