Enjoying a fish
I have been nursing a cold all week and staying indoors. Colds seem to have an effect on the mind as well as the nose, and I lost my enthusiasm for blipping. Despite that I took a walk today and was rewarded by the sight of this otter.
She was right in the centre of Perth, and working her way up the Tay against a strong current, catching a fish every few minutes. At times she almost leapt out of the water as she dived against the strong flow.
Otters are reputed to be shy but this one looked at me a few times and then returned to the fish. I'm saying "she" because she seemed quite small. Her size and boldness made me think she might be a mink, but after looking at the pictures I'm sure she's a (good) otter rather than a (bad) mink.
