Pelican Customer

We had our mouths set for some good old fashioned fish & chips today, so naturally we headed for Doyle's at Watson's Bay ... as you do. This picture was taken from the outdoors section of the beachside restaurant and the subject is no more than maybe two metres from diners.

I get the distinct impression that this fella makes a good living from standing there looking hard done by. I must admit he has his "poor starving wildlife" expression down pat. I also think that HE thinks he is a legit customer and would be most indignant not to waddle away with something for his efforts.
