Across the graveyard

This is the Church of St Lawrence, Appleby, the one connected with Lady Anne Clifford in the 17th Century. 

This was taken from the riverside. The iron railings that divided the graveyard from the riverside path, and were destroyed in the floods, have not been fully restored. I think they have enough on with flood restoration work inside the church. The girls were astonished when we showed them the markers in the church indicating the flood levels - the water was over the seats in the pews.
