The Local Heron

Always a sense of achievement to capture a bird in flight (even if it's a bum shot!).  This heron must have been particularly irritated with me as I disturbed him three times while walking up and back through the local nature reserve.

It was sad to see the the local vandals had set fire to a small wooden bridge that crosses a wet area in the reserve.  It's not an issue at the moment, the good weather has ensured that even the canal is down a good two or so feet, but as soon as normal weather patterns resume it will cut off one of the paths across the area.  Still struggle to understand what possesses people to do things like this.
