Tiny lights in a dark world

Another long and awful day in the office. Despite leaving very late and having to lock up, I then got caught by yet more temporary traffic lights for over half an hour on my way home.

When I finally arrived home, these little tealights were shining on my neighbour's gate posts. They were lit to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali, that began this week. Lots of the houses had fairy lights up too and there were fireworks going off all around.

It was good to see these little bright lights in what was otherwise a bleak, black and miserable day.
