Today is  "Victory Day" and is a public holiday in Turkey.  Making the most of a day off in this very warm - actually , too warm day,  twelve of us neighbour-friend-colleagues went to the water side House Cafe in Ortaköy for a leisurely and utterly delicious Turkish breakfast. Yummy. Grabbed the rather mediocre photo of the far from mediocre view when walking away a couple of hours later with a very full tummy.  


History of Victory day in Turkey
Victory Day commemorates the victory in the Battle of Dumlupınar which was the decisive battle in the Turkish War of Independence in 1922. It also honours the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
