Southerly front coming

We parked at the top of Evans Pass and walked out toward Godley Head this afternoon. Got a bit of a look at the rocks on Sumner Road (between Evans Pass and Lyttelton) which has been closed since ... one of the earthquakes, 22 Feb 2011 I think, it's all a bit of a blur now!

The forecast southerly appeared over Gebbies Pass. It wasn't moving as quickly as we had thought at first, and we got back to the car without getting wet. Watched it move in from the parking bay at the top of the hill. It looked ferocious but was shortlived.
