Harvest
The field behind our house always seems to get left until last, as a bit of an afterthought. Just when you think they've forgotten to do it, and we had just been saying as much, along the road trundles a great big piece of John Deere machinery with a queue of ten vehicles behind it. It turns into the field and the farmer sets to to harvest the crop. He spends a small percentage of his time actually driving the machine and the rest of the evening unclogging the cutting bit, until bad light stops play. Consequently he had to come back and finish it today.
We now have a huge trailer of wheat grain behind the fence, and piles of straw lying in rows in the field.
If I can catch him I'll ask what it is to be used for.
