I've a great deal of respect for teachers of any ilk. It's such an under appreciated job, given the impact it can have on all of our futures.

I walked into an arts center today and found Carol fully absorbed in demonstrating some oil painting techniques to her attentive student. Carol's been at this for 19 years, and also does both commercial and fine arts work on the side. "Portraits are the most difficult, especially kids" she said. She commented on the advent of iPads and its ability to play movies as been the best IT development from her point of view: "now kids sit still for at least a little bit of time while I play them movies." Ain't technology grand? :)

ps: thanks for the good wishes for my husband. He's now home, feeling and looking so much better and following a treatment of steroids to get over this allergic reaction :)
