Goodbye August. Sad to see you go.
Tiger was howling downstairs at 6.30am today. It is like having a new baby in the house since he went deaf!
I went down to feed him and opened the back door to a glorious morning. It was so fresh and bright. A definite nip in the air. Hubby still asleep.
I went outside and revelled in the calm before the day wound itself up, or more like until I wound myself up.
I can never resist dead heading nor pruning a few plants here and there at this time of year even at that time of day. My secateurs live on the side in the kitchen by the back door.
I was still in my dressing gown but did not want to miss the peacefulness before the sound of traffic began in earnest.
We live opposite a school, the main gate in fact, and so this coming week, our road will once again be totally clogged up with cars, either parked or coming and going, not to mention the delivery wagons which arrive.
I do not really mind as I like to hear the sounds of children playing. Our two went to the school, which was an Infant/Junior at the time, surrounded by trees.
It is now a shared site , a co-location with a Special School, so we have around 10 mini buses each morning and afternoon who bring in some of the children from different parts of the outer city ring.
All makes for a lot of traffic!
Anyway, I was enjoying the peace before the school restarts after the weekend.
I took lots of photos today, so how to choose!
Tiger went to drink out of the bird bath initially and then from the plant saucer that I leave out for the smaller birds.
I quickly managed to capture him on camera!
It has been such a lovely late summer day with a beautiful sunset.
I did some more gardening after lunch in the warm sunshine.
It is now chilly outside as the temperature falls away after sundown.
September arrives tomorrow..........
