Protea
I finally got around to printing out and framing some examples of photos taken using techniques learnt on a Creative Flower Photography workshop I attended last year (extra). While two of the photos came out of my back catalogue, I was struggling to find a third, so headed off to a nearby garden centre, which also specialises in cut flowers.
This flower, with its spikey head, took my fancy, and I spent a happy hour taking its portrait. Apparently, it is a Protea named after the Greek god Proteus, son of Poseidon, who had the ability to transform himself into many different shapes. It originates from South Africa, and is my entry for this week's Flower Friday hosted by BikerBear.
