Gondola

We took a walk along the river on our way to Pret for coffee, followed by lunch.  As we were walking by the RSC we saw the gondola sailing past. This gondola was used by Marie Corelli between 1905 and 1917.  From then to the present day the boat has had quite a chequered life, a brief, fascinating report on its history can be found at Mariephenalia

The only difference appears to be the removal of the sun canopy used by Corelli as she didn't like to be seen. It still has the old record player, though probably not the original.
