The road to Whittier

We spent the morning in down town again then caught the shuttle bus to Whittier where our cruise ship is docked.  Fantastic scenery on a rather grey day.  It's hard to remember that it's nearly mid-summer here, when there is still so much snow and ice around.


And I saw my first ever bald eagle!  Majestic!

At this point we've already boarded our ship.  

The extra shows the train coming in to Whittier - more passengers for this cruise, and supplies to keep 2000 passengers and over 1000 crew going for a week.

This is my first ever cruise so it's going to be interesting to see what that is like.
