Autumn, with a touch of summer

I thought this leaf was an excellent illustration of where we are in the seasons - autumn is definitely here but summer seems to be reluctant to wholly let go.
In any case, we are having glorious weather, windless warm days with clear air and a fresh feel. Sitting outside with our guests we watched dragonflies looping by, a golden eagle circling on thermals, perhaps heading south, and an elephant hawkmoth feeding on our honeysuckle.
We had an excellent evening with our guests L and R and they retired to their campervan shortly after midnight.  Soon we'll be eating breakfast with them!
