Off on tod to the Stedelijk Museum. A gorgeous day - people sitting all around on the grass. Inside, an interesting exhibition about Amsterdam in the late sixties as well as a genuinely well curated (sez me, expert) permanent collection.
Enough of that, on to stroll into town, stopping for a rye bread and beer sitting outside somewhere, then coffee and a ginger cookie, to Cafe Belgique, and why not, on to check out Brouwerij de Prael, before heading to meet up with the chaps at Brouwerij Troost. And back to some gawdawful satellite sports bar to half watch Man City v Newcastle for MrT’s benefit (and for ours if they won - he promised dwinks, y’see). Dismal.
But an enjoyable final couple of hours at some food hall where drinks flowed, sausages sizzled, young people shrieked and Rick Astley boomed over the speakers. Class!
