Pink
I have one pink zinnia plant that survived the summer heat and it keeps getting a flower or two. This one has been around a while but it it still pretty in its old age. I have to find some areas of the yard that do not get the hot sun for most of the day to plant flower beds. It is just too hot for delicate flowers that are close to the hot ground even with watering.
Today was a day of battling bugs. I found azalea caterpillars on my azaleas again! So I killed as many as I could find and then broke down and sprayed the plants with some bug spray. I don't like to do that but these things are really doing damage to my azaleas and the plants aren't flowering now. We don't want to cut them back yet as it is so hot but I might just have to get Jerry out there with the clippers. There were eggs on many of the leaves too. I took the water hose and used the higher jet spray to hopefully knock them to the ground. Not really what I wanted to do on Sunday morning. I will check the plants later today to see if I find any more critters.
