We struck an object at speed on the motorway.

The car sustained some underside damage and a rear wheel puncture developed just as we approached an exit slip road. Once off, we were able to sufficiently inflate the tyre and proceed 100m to a safer location nearby.
We managed to get the locking wheel nut loosened .... but the rest were set fast. Toyota Assistance/ theAA turned out promptly and sorted things. They were efficient throughout and the patrolman couldn’t have been nicer. Soon we were back on our way, sporting our natty space saver spare wheel.
The damaged tyre is torn and ruined. Examination revealed a fair bit of cosmetic damage underneath the car, which will need attention.
A bit of an upset to be truthful, but nobody was hurt, that’s the main thing.
