Uneasy bedfellows
Mr White and his mum, Ellie, looking very Sunday-morning relaxed before they decide to have one of their regular scrap-ettes. It usually starts with her giving him (or one of his brothers) a good wash and then the pair of them having a bit of a kickaround.
There was a supplement in the Guardian yesterday 'Photography Masterclass' which was absolutely wonderful. Lots of inspiration, wisdom and some assignments to do if one feels so moved. I think I may well be.
Here are quotes from some of the contributors that particularly resonated with me:
"You're looking at the ultimate truth of what happened that day. Emotional awareness is the most important aspect of photography. Without it, your images won't ring true" - Don McCullin (one of my most favourite photographers ever)
"Trust your instincts, be brave and alert to every possibility and wear sensible shoes - all that pavement pounding will pay off eventually" - Antonio Olmos
You don't need epic surroundings to shoot a worthy landscape photo. Beauty can be found on your doorstep if your eyes are open to it" - Eamonn McCabe
I've had a lot of much needed down time this weekend, given myself (yet another) bit of a talking to and feel slightly better for it. Thanks to everyone for their kindness and words of wisdom.
