Amid much fanfare and noise (OK, so it was more hip hop played on bass heavy sound systems than actual fanfare), the new graffiti wall was opened for business on Saturday morning.
Being a culturally aware dad and considerate parent, I dragged the lads down for a neb on Saturday to inhale industrial quantities of paint fumes. It'll stand them in good stead with an upbringing in Granton. I'm sure paint fumes leads to lighter gas which leads to other things. Graffiti = gateway drug, kids.
We came back on Sunday to have a look on our way to be culturally aware at the Mela (and score a curry and samosa); and lo! Cigs had been after we drifted past on Saturday! The first certified 2018 sighting in the bag.
Blues and yellows, in sympathetic harmony with the base colour used.
And there was someone taking a keen interest in the wall; took an awfy lot of photos of Cigs; I reckon this might actually be Cigs; returning to the scene and pretending to be an interested spectator... It must be, surely?
If you're in EH6, take a dander past; there's some really decent stuff on view after the weekend's jam.
