Illicit Barbecue

Katies done awesome today. Little superstar. She got up and ready, did her music practice. Lydia arrived part way through and she carried on well. We walked her to Bs and left her there. We went back at the prescribed time and she was still busy away st her lesson. B told me later that what Katie had achieved this week was spectacular, that she worked so hard in her lesson. She was really pleased.

Katie and lydia watched tv while I had a piano lesson. We all walked home and got ready for a trip out. We went to the country park! The girls went and built a den while I lit the little barbecue and cooked lunch. It’s the first time I’ve taken one of those out on a trip with us like this and we loved it. The food was yummy, cooked better than I expected on a £1 barbecue! We even toasted marshmallows. As we did, the groundsman who’d passed us about 5 times stopped and said “just to let you know, naked flakes aren’t allowed in the park so carry on but just make sure you put it out when you’re done”. It was blissful in the sunshine anyway! The children returned to their den and played so happily. We’d bought some cheap poundshop outdoor toys and they loved them as well as building a wigwam for a ladybird!

We went for some exploring time, a bit of scrambling, rock climbing and flower picking. After we’d cleaned up and gave them a drink, we took Katie to dancing! First night back of the term. Monday is now her big ballet lesson (for this term anyway). Happy little Katie!
