Eightmile Lake

We lucked out and got a gorgeous day for this hike! About 7 miles RT with 1300 feet of gain, topping out at approx 4600 feet. Ooof, we could really feel the altitude... Takes a day or 2 to adjust when one is used to the oxygen in air at sea level!

Unfortunately there was a serious wildfire in this area sometime in the recent past and all the trees are burnt right down to the waterline. There was quite a bit of hiking through a burn area that’s probably 7-8 years old too. But the undergrowth is lush and the views were stunning. I’d add an extra but apparently that feature is not supported on iPhone.
