The Old and New Ways.
Woke at first light this morning, all was so clear and crisp, so rolled out of bed, put on warm running gear and headed onto the moor as the sun rose. All days are a gift, but some feel more so than others.
The blipped path has caused a bit of a stir locally, a few paved paths have been laid recently on the moor partly to manage erosion partly to improve access. The off road biking and fell running crowd have mostly been grumpy about it. This morning the frost meant the slabs were too slippery to run on so I left my usual routes and discovered some new tracks and trails and look forward to running off the slabs over the winter.
I was all alone up there this morning and running free, I was moved by the beauty, the light, the stillness and crispness of it all. It all felt re-creating.
