Pollution

So, I went to the small bridge over the river Geul to inspect the damage.
Almost everything in the river is dead . A manure silo tore near Plombières, in Belgium, causing liters of manure to flow into the river. The result: dead fish everywhere. It's an environmental disaster, with consequences that will have an aftermath of years.

When I took my blip, I thought I heard the sound of a jumping trout. Plombières is approximately 15 kilometers upstream.  Perhaps the trout decided to turn around and swim to the river Gulp.
